An Early Start...

Looking back, I realise that from a surprisingly young age, I had a clear vision of the future life I wanted to live.

I had clarity on my life purpose and I was prepared to work hard to achieve it.

I inherited from my parents a positive ‘can do’ attitude, a strong work ethos, boundless energy and a set of values which have kept me moving forward on my life journey in good times and in very challenging times - times of deep grief, times of ill health and times of great uncertainty.

In Pursuit of my Life Purpose

I have continued to passionately pursue my personal purpose in life, which is to bring about positive transformation in my own life and also in the lives of others.

I have learned that what can seem impossible is possible when approached with a positive solution-oriented mindset, a laser-focus on desired goals, energy, determination, resilience and purposeful action.

Through the course of this highly fulfilling and rewarding career, I became increasingly aware that my gifts were the ability to anticipate emerging business opportunities and threats, develop and communicate compelling business visions and get buy-in from others to make them happen, bring about transformational change, bring out the leader in others and help, inspire and motivate individuals through the process of creating their own transformational journey in achieving career and business success and in realising their full potential.

Helping others to overcome major challenges in their own personal lives, when the odds were stacked against them, has been both a humbling and a deep learning experience for me to comprehend fully what can be achieved by taking the time not just to listen but to hear, by being empathetic, extending a helping hand, giving encouragement and by never giving up in the face of adversity.

Developing the Leaders of Tomorrow

Over the years, I have enjoyed working with youth groups on a voluntary basis. As the lieutenant in the Knock Order of Malta, I was honoured, in partnership with my husband Joe, to train a large group of young cadets in first aid and to promote the importance of contributing to the wider community through involving and guiding them in carrying out a number of community projects.

I also enjoyed developing the talents of a group of young students while teaching them Irish and Traditional Set Dancing.
